Day 17:July Appears

On another sunny, hot, more humid day, the top seven runners went past 60 miles. Stutisheel Lebedyev ran his best distance of the race so far-69.14 miles- but was upstaged by countryman Sarvagata Ukrainskyi, who garnered 73.5, to bring his race-leading average up to 70 miles a day. Second placer Yuri Trostenyuk, another Ukrainian, had a strange evening. Only minutes after having a haircut right next to the counting desk, Yuri had a local dentist attend to his ailing tooth- and he still ran 66.95 miles. Five more runners slipped past the 1000 mile mark and all 14 are still moving along.
